Postcard Reviews
My Cozy Village can be hand stitched or a sewing machine can be used. It is perfectly adaptable and would be really amazing by adding buttons, ribbon and other embellishments.
Each finished block is 16' x 16' and the finished quilt is 62' x 62'. I am thinking that they can be made smaller just by resizing the printed blocks on a printer.
The instruction booklet is very informative. Fabric and thread recommendations are given and tips and techniques are in written and pictorial format. The Embroidery suggestions are divine and what I love is that the pictures give a close up of some beautiful additions to the quilt that give some amazing ideas.
This is stunning project. It won't be done overnight, but the enjoyment of creating such a beautiful quilt is very appealing.
A superb project to get creative and imaginative with that will give hours of enjoyment.

This is both a book and a kit, comprised of a card wallet containing a sixteen page booklet and patterns for nine quilt blocks. Four of these are shown on the cover, depicting buildings you might find in a cozy village, surrounded by a floral border. These are made in a combination of appliqué and embroidery. The booklet tells you what materials and tools you need and explains the techniques employed in photographic stages. Learn hand, raw edge machine, and reverse appliqué, plus a few simple hand embroidery stitches and how to make your own bias tape. The booklet also shows how to assemble the blocks and border and gives suggestions as to how to add some embroidery to the panels. I wouldn't recommend this to a beginner, but it contains enough information for intermediate quilters and would be a fun project to make that gives the quilter a chance to use up some scraps. There are tips on fabric choice and information about all the tools and materials that are handy to know -- particularly for anybody who is not very experienced. The author manages to convey a lot in a few words, and although I have not done any of these methods exactly, I was able to understand what to do fairly easily. On the reverse of the booklet is a list of items and where to get them, US suppliers only, a nice touch. This is a beautiful and unusual quilt project that is sure to provide a quilter with hours of pleasure and many admiring remarks once done.
