Inside Crochet

Issue 79

This reprint of a classic crochet guide is still a great and comprehensive introduction to the craft. Starting with the guide to hooks and yarns, it moves on to basic stitches illustrated with clear and colourful photographs. It's then on to the bobbles, clusters, hoops and picots- and we're not even a third of the way through yet! This book would make an ideal present and reference for the beginner, yet it is packed with informaiton even the most experienced crocheter will find useful

The best way to describe this book is invaluable! There is so much left I have to learn about crochet and this book is helping me on my way. This book is designed to take you step-by-step in different techniques and stitches so that you can learn them. The pictures are amazingly clear and really do take you through step-by-step. Everyone from a beginner upwards has something that they can learn from this book. If you are a beginner then this book really is invaluable. It takes you through the different ways you can hold your hook to how to get started. It takes you through each of the basic stitches you will need and then takes you through
everything from increasing to decreasing. This is a project book this book is purely to learn to crochet, learn different stitches and techniques to help support you on your crochet journey. An amazing array of stitches are covered. Everything from a single crochet to a puff stitch. Or why not try a raised treble rib. Once you have learnt numerous stitches you can then learn how to crochet with beads and sequins. How about learning broomstick crochet or entrelac crochet. Then we move onto filet crochet and hairpin lace. I love the section of Irish crochet. It makes it so easy to follow and a scary technique look so easy.  The book even takes you through learning tunisian crochet. The other amazing thing in the book is using crochet to create buttons, buttons holes and button loops. I haven't covered everything in the book as there is just so much packed in! I think this really is an invaluable book for any crocheter!
