Customer review

A practical guide that I am glad has been added to my library of crochet books. It gives clear instructions, both in words and pictures, which I find really useful. Also hints as to what end product the stitch best suits. Am already using the treble crunch stitch for a lapghan. So this book is going to get a lot of use. Highly recommended.

Customer review

I have been crocheting for around 3 years and was stuck with trebles and granny squares. This book broke me out of this with its easy-to-understand text and diagrams. This makes it perfect for the learner or the more experienced crocheter to follow the patterns. Lovely photos accompany each stitch and at the back there is a glossary and perfect basic stitch instructions too. You really cant go wrong. Buy this book. You wont regret it.

Customer review

I have up until now only crocheted in squares, i was aware I could do circles too but never found a use for them. Then I got this book, initially I was a bit concerned that I would not be able to do these stitches but the step-by-step guides are really easy to follow and I'm really happy with how much i have learned. I'm especially proud of my 'offset shell columns'. Highly recommended.

Customer review

This wonderful book is jam packed with a host of delights. I did a few samples to try out how easy some of the unknown stitches would work. Simple, clear instructions illustrated, written in words and a chart for each, so whatever your preferred method of pattern reading is, it is covered in this book. Hub was intrigued, handed over a hook and off he went and did a couple of samples as well. For pretty much a novice (he has only crocheted one thing before, ever!), he managed well with very little input from me. Of any of the questions he asked me, the answers can be found at the back of the book. Basically, my views are that this book will cover the more experienced crocheter for a further repertoire of stitches, or a newbie interested in what can be done. Its explained simply enough for either level.

Customer review

You'd think that with all the crochet stitch books on the market, you wouldn't need another. Well think again! I am a crochet addict and a craft book addict so I jumped at the chance to read and review this one. I was not disappointed. I've been crocheting for 8 years and consider myself an advanced and experienced crocheter. There were stitches and patterns in here I hadn't come across before. Everything from the contents page to the individual stitch pattern sections have been well thought out, clearly written and the accompanying photography is very high quality. The use of different yarn colours in the examples really makes this book stand out from the crowd. Sections are colour coded to make it easier to find what you're looking for and with everything covered from the basics to Tunisian crochet, fans, shells, clusters, popcorns, spike stitches, raised stitches, mesh, filet, lace, openwork, waves, chevrons, textured stitches colour work and edges you won't be short of ideas once you have this book! The section on crochet skills make it accessible to everyone, beginner or expert and the section on symbols and abbreviations will mean you can make sense of even the most complicated pattern. My 4 year old son is busy selecting which stitches he'd like me to use in his next crochet block blanket!

Postcard Reviews

This is a book filled with over 200 crochet stitches. It is complete with steps to each stitch and is accompanied with a visual image.

Simply explained, the stitches included are lace, textured and even 3D stitches.

My favourite has to be the Tunisian stitches, which I haven't yet tried, but each of the included stitches are brilliantly showcased.

They can be used for making blankets, edging and the Crochet Skills section at the back of the book ensures that everyone will know the basic of crochet before they start.

The abbreviations are in US and UK styles, and the explanations are simple to understand.

What I noticed about this book was the colours. Each stitch is beautiful, and 200 More Crochet Stitches is a book that inspires.

This is a must have addition to your craft room.
