David Bellamy has always been fascinated by the world's wild places. Highly regarded as a teacher of art, he has a tremendous following among leisure painters, many of whom have attended his extremely popular courses and workshops both in the UK and overseas. He gives demonstrations and talks, produces successful DVDs, has written many books on watercolour painting and is a regular contributor to art magazines. David lives in Builth Wells, Wales.
I believe Watercolour is similar to free hand silk painting and I have always been a great admirer of David Bellamy's watercolours.
David has travelled extensively capturing the place, light and atmosphere as he travels. I have only ever seen him give a demonstration but a friend accompanied him on a visit to the Artic which greatly influenced her quality of painting.
The book covers every aspect of painting every type of landscape, including mountains, moors, seas and seashores all with fabulous skies. Studying this book in detail could not fail to make you a better landscape painter, it is obvious this is the result of knowledge gained over many years with infinite amount of practice.
The book has been a joy to read for this review and I really cannot do it justice. You will probably refer to this book time and time again.
